PREP2 Prediction Delivery Training
Delivering Evidence-Based Recovery Predictions After Stroke
PREP2 is a clinically validated tool that predicts upper-limb outcomes for individual patients after stroke. It uses a combination of clinical assessments, patient characteristics, and, when required, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). The prediction helps clinicians support rehabilitation planning, goal setting, and discussions about recovery expectations with patients and their families.
This training programme equips rehabilitation clinicians with the knowledge and communication skills required to deliver PREP2 predictions in a clear, accurate, and patient-centred manner.
Training includes:
Foundations of the PREP2 prediction tool
Understanding prediction categories and their implications
Communicating predictions to patients and families
Discussing uncertainty and managing difficult conversations
Using predictions to support rehabilitation planning and goal setting
Case-based practice and interactive learning activities
The training combines self-directed online modules with expert-led instruction and feedback. It is delivered by clinicians and researchers with internationally recognised expertise in stroke rehabilitation, recovery prediction, clinical communication, and the development and implementation of the PREP2 algorithm.
